OUR RESEARCH

The research activities in UNIFIED are organised into several interconnected work packages. Each work package addresses a specific part of the project, working together to develop, test, and implement approaches that better integrate patient perspectives into healthcare research and decision-making.

Explore the sections below to learn more about the project structure and the work packages.

PROJECT STRUCTURE

The UNIFIED project is organised into a series of interconnected work packages that run throughout the project lifecycle. The PERT chart below illustrates how these activities are structured and how they interact over time to support the development, testing, and implementation of the UNIFIED Framework.

RESEARCH APPROACH & METHODOLOGY

UNIFIED follows a structured research approach that brings together methodological development, clinical studies across multiple medical domains, and stakeholder engagement. The aim is to create a practical framework that integrates patient preference information, clinical outcome assessments, and digital health technology–derived measures into healthcare research and decision-making.

The figure below illustrates the overall methodology of the project, highlighting how the different research components interact to support the development, testing, and validation of the UNIFIED Framework across the project’s work packages and use cases.

WORK PACKAGES

The activities of UNIFIED are organised into a series of interconnected work packages, each addressing a specific component of the research and implementation process. Together, these work packages guide the development of the project’s methodological framework, the testing of approaches across different medical domains, and the engagement of key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Each work package contributes to advancing the overall objective of UNIFIED: to develop a harmonised framework that integrates patient preferences, clinical outcomes, and digital health technologies-derived measures into healthcare research and decision-making.
